The Union Cabinet Has Approved Two New Metro Corridors in Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Union Cabinet approved two new corridors for Delhi Metro’s Phase-IV project, enhancing connectivity in the national capital.

The project, funded by the Indian, Delhi, and international governments, aims to construct 20.762 km of corridors, including the Inderlok – Indraprastha corridor, which extends the Green Line and connects multiple lines, and the Lajpat Nagar – Saket G Block corridor, which includes eight elevated stations.

The Inderlok – Indraprastha Line will improve connectivity to Bahadurgarh, Haryana, and central and east Delhi by constructing eight new interchange stations, enhancing all operational lines of the Delhi Metro network.

The Delhi Metro, one of the fastest-growing global networks, is set to complete the construction of four corridors as part of its fourth phase expansion, with pre-bid activities and tender document preparations underway by DMRC.
