RITES signs an infrastructural development agreement with Mizoram.

RITES has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Mizoram’s Planning & Program Implementation Department to investigate opportunities given by the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) and improve infrastructural development across the state’s whole belt.

RITES, which was signed in the presence of Darshana Jardosh, the Minister of State for Railways and Textiles, and Zoramthanga, the Chief Minister of Mizoram, among other dignitaries, will jointly identify projects in the areas of transportation infrastructure, such as highways, buildings, airports, urban engineering, and ropeways. Manobendra Ghoshal, RITES’ Executive Director, said the MoU with Mizoram marks a new chapter in the organization’s history and prepares the way for infrastructure development in the North-Eastern state, where the potential for sustainable and resilient growth is enormous.

To attract PPP players for investments in the region, RITES will lend its technical expertise and explore collaborations with the Government of Mizoram in the development of industrial and logistic parks, including integrated check posts, signalling & workshops, metro railway systems, urban engineering & sustainability, water, sanitation, infrastructure, and renewable energy.
