Ramky Infrastructure Wins FICCI Smart Urban Innovation Award 2024

In June 2024, Ramky Infrastructure Limited was honored with the FICCI Smart Urban Innovation Award in the ‘Sustainable Cities’ category. This accolade recognizes their significant efforts in treating and disposing of legacy leachate at Jawahar Nagar, Hyderabad.

Legacy leachate, a hazardous by-product of waste decomposition, poses severe environmental risks by contaminating water bodies and groundwater. To combat this, Ramky implemented a 2,000 KLD leachate treatment plant, effectively addressing an initial volume exceeding 849,780 kilolitres. The project also involved restoring and stabilizing nearby ponds, showcasing a comprehensive approach to environmental remediation.

The award was presented during the 5th Smart Urban Innovation Awards, held alongside the 7th FICCI Cities Summit. This event aims to foster dialogue and innovative solutions for urban infrastructure challenges.
