L&T secures the Bhopal Metro’s track laying contract.

To build standard gauge rails for the subterranean, elevated, and Subhash Nagar Depot of Bhopal Metro Phase 1, Larsen & Toubro was chosen as the lowest bidder. In this regard, the European Investment Bank (EIB) had funded the contract (Package BH-07) when Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (MPMRCL) published a bidding for it in February of this year. L&T provided a bid value of 238.52 crore for the work to be finished in 1274 days. The design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of ballastless standard gauge track as well as the supply of fastening systems were all included in the contract’s scope of work. For the Bhopal Metro Rail Project, the work also involved building elevated and underground sections as well as ballasted ballastless track in the depot. That’s the The fourth and last track-related contract for the 27.87 km long Phase 1 project in Bhopal. Before this, the first phase of the Indore Metro project, Phase 1, for which Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (JSPL) submitted the lowest bid, was combined with the preceding three phases.
