Kodungallur-Edappally NH expansion in Kerala is beginning by NHAI

The national highway from Kodungallur to Edappally will be widened and upgraded to a six-lane section with a flyover at Cheranelloor Junction by the National Highway Authority of India. The Edappally Junction and the bypass would also receive a significant renovation as part of the highway construction. The terminal road joins with NH 66. To broaden and improve the Cheranelloor Junction, which has already received all necessary clearances from the NHAI, it will be extended to the eastern side and approximately 60 commercial buildings would be removed.

A total of $1200 crore is being distributed as compensation for the acquisition of around 28 hectares of land for the expansion works, and the road will be enlarged up until the parking area of Lulu Mall in the junction. The project is a component of creating a six-lane highway over around 60 km of the route from Talappady in Kasargod to Karode in Thiruvananthapuram.
