Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects in Delhi, valued at over ₹12,200 crore, aimed at enhancing connectivity and infrastructure. He highlighted India’s metro network crossing 1,000 km as a landmark achievement. Among the projects, he inaugurated the 13-km Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor between Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar, costing ₹4,600 crore. This high-speed transit will significantly ease travel between Delhi and Meerut, benefiting millions with improved safety and reliability.
Additionally, the Prime Minister inaugurated the 2.8-km Janakpuri-Krishna Park stretch of Delhi Metro Phase-IV, worth ₹1,200 crore, marking the first operational segment of Phase-IV. This will benefit West Delhi areas, including Krishna Park, Vikaspuri, and Janakpuri. Modi also laid the foundation for the 26.5-km Rithala-Kundli corridor of Phase-IV, costing ₹6,230 crore. Connecting Delhi’s Rithala to Kundli in Haryana, this extended Red Line will improve access to Rohini, Bawana, Narela, and Kundli, boosting connectivity in North-West Delhi and Haryana.
Further, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for a ₹185-crore state-of-the-art Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) in Rohini. The new facility will include administrative, OPD, IPD, and treatment blocks, offering integrated healthcare and research facilities. Modi emphasized the government’s decade-long focus on infrastructure development, noting that the budget for infrastructure has risen from ₹2 lakh crore to over ₹11 lakh crore during this period.
