The latest in a string of alliances and financial ventures the two firms are making, Hitachi and Microsoft announced a multibillion-dollar cooperation to hasten the adoption of generative artificial intelligence.

According to a joint announcement from the two firms, the Japanese conglomerate would include Microsoft products, such as GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Cloud, into Lumada, Hitachi’s main digital, software, and services company, as part of the three-year agreement.

With its Lumada division, Hitachi hopes to generate $18.9 billion in revenue in the current fiscal year, which started in April. In the previous fiscal year, the company brought in $15.0 billion in sales.

Hitachi and Google established a cooperation late last month, with the Japanese company setting up a business unit dedicated to assisting companies in resolving industry issues.

Hitachi and Microsoft launched a multibillion-dollar partnership to accelerate the deployment of generative artificial intelligence. This is the latest in a series of partnerships and financial ventures the two companies are entering into.

The Japanese conglomerate would integrate Microsoft products, like GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Cloud, into Lumada, Hitachi’s primary digital, software, and services subsidiary, as part of the three-year deal, according to a joint release from the two companies.

Hitachi expects to bring in $18.9 billion from its Lumada subsidiary this fiscal year, which began in April. The company’s sales for the previous fiscal year totaled $15.0 billion.

Late this month, Hitachi and Google announced their partnership, with the Japanese tech giant establishing a business unit tasked with supporting businesses in resolving industry issues.
