Govt plans six airports in Jharkhand & Telangana

The Union government intends to construct three additional airports in Jharkhand, including Bokaro, Jamshedpur, and Dumka, bringing the state’s total number of airports to five, according to Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Similar to this, three new airports will be built in Telangana. G Kishan Reddy, the union minister for tourism and culture, has given the state government instructions to expedite the land acquisition process for the upcoming projects. Telangana currently only has one operational airport, the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad, which is located outside of Hyderabad. Hyderabad’s Begumpet neighbourhood has an airport, but it is only used by VIP aircraft and is not open to the general public.
