A court in Telangana has asked the chief secretary to file a counter affidavit to an order that allowed occupants of government lands in urban areas to regularise encroachment of public land for a fee. The PIL challenged government order (GO) 59, which was passed last year.
Petitioner counsel said the state had issued two government orders (GOs), 58 and 59, for regularising small plots.
Land grabbers will have to pay nominal fees in four instalments to regularise their land. The state-issued order, GO MS No 14, was issued in February and is allowing another fresh round of regularisation process for encroached land in Goa.
