Gadkari Provides ₹6,621.62 crore for the Frontier Highway in Arunachal Pradesh

The building of eight packages on National Highway 913, also referred to as the Frontier Highway, in Arunachal Pradesh will receive ₹6,621.62 crore, according to announcements made by Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari. The project’s goal is to use the EPC mode to convert to an Intermediate Lane arrangement across a distance of 265.49 kilometers. Packages concentrating on several regions, including Huri-Taliha, Bile-Migging, Kharsang-Maio-Gandhigram-Vijaynagar, and Bomdila-Nafra-Lada, are included in the effort.

Gadkari highlighted that these advancements hold the potential to improve border connectivity, promote socio-economic development, and reduce migration in Arunachal Pradesh. It is anticipated that the building of the Frontier Highway will encourage reverse migration in the direction of the border regions.

These sections are also critical for the establishment of vital road infrastructure that links major river basins, facilitating the construction of multiple hydropower projects in the state. The mostly greenfield route, which connects remote and thinly populated regions of Upper Arunachal, is expected to enhance tourism and handle more traffic in the future.
