The detailed project report (DPR) for the Meerut-Panipat railway line has been completed and is expected to be authorised soon, subject to a minor changes to the alignment plan.
Dr. Sanjeev Baliyan, Union Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and Fisheries and Muzaffarnagar MP, has been working on the project for the past six years. He stated that the DPR has been produced with a budget of 3500 crores. However, a few adjustments to the alignment would be made to bring the cost down to Rs. 2200 crore.
This new railway line will shorten travel time between Uttar Pradesh and Haryana while also enhancing trade.
