The Federal Ministry of Transport has approved another highway to Bihar. The highway will start from Gorakhpur in the east of UP and go to Siliguri in West Bengal. It will be 600 kilometers long. Most highways will pass through The northern region of Bihar. This new road will become the lifeline of residents in the area. Not only will it make commuting between Bihar and Bengal easier, but it will also open up new trade routes.

The central government approved this highway in principle, and the Ministry of Highway Construction in Bihar will soon start construction. Currently, there is no road connection between Gorakhpur and Siliguri, which is why it takes nearly a day to cover the distance between these two cities. The proposed highway will reduce the distance between Gorakhpur and Siliguri to less than 600 kilometers, about 416 kilometers-which will pass through northern Bihar.

The green highway will enter Bihar through Gopalganj, pass through Siwan, Chhapra, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Saharsa, Purnia, Kishanganj, and arrive at Siliguri. This will be a new highway, excluding any existing roads, and will be the fourth highway in Bihar, as one is being constructed between Aurangabad and Chenagar (Madhubani district) Highway. The second one is being built between Laxor and Patna, and it will go to Kolkata.

The other was proposed between Buxar and Bhagalpur. The Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway will be connected to other cities in Azamgarh and UP by connecting roads, which will eventually make the connection with Delhi easier.
