Amaravati: On Sunday, P Narayana, the Minister of Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration, announced that the development of the capital city of Amaravati will be finished in two and a half years.
Narayana declared that the plans made in the past will be carried out to achieve the goal of making Amaravati, the state capital, one of the top five capital cities in the world.
Speaking to media shortly after taking up her position at the state secretariat, Narayana declared, “We will complete the development works of state capital Amaravati in the coming two and a half years.”
The minister claims that the Singaporean government has been involved in every development project started in the capital, particularly when it comes to planning the city so that every region will profit monetarily.
He claimed that in order to create the best designs for Amaravati, designers travelled to Singapore, China, Japan, Russia, Malaysia, and other nations.
In order to guarantee that all amenities are available in most of the capital, Narayana added that tenders totaling Rs 48,000 crore had previously been called, and that invoices totaling Rs 9,000 crore had already been settled.
He added that up to 90% of these projects included building the residences of politicians, bureaucrats, and other officials.
Farmers gave the government 34,000 acres of land by February 28, 2015, following the issuance of the land pooling announcement for Amaravati as the capital city, according to Narayana.
Nonetheless, he claimed that the previous YSRCP government disregarded the capital city development initiative.
In the following fifteen days, the minister promised, some clarity about the order of priority for the capital city works will become apparent after reviewing the plans with officials starting today.
He said that the previous capital development master plan would be carried out, particularly in three stages.
He estimated that the first phase of city construction development work will cost Rs 48,000 crore, with the second phase concentrating on creating the mass public transport system and metro rail infrastructure.
