The Phase-II Arrival Area at Darbhanga Airport has been turned over to the Airport Authority of India by EPACK Prefab, a prominent supplier of pre-engineered and prefab solutions in India. An extra 1,700 square meters are devoted to the Phase-II Arrival Area, which can handle up to 600 people per hour during peak hours. With this addition, the Darbhanga Airport’s total space is now 3,100 square meters, which improves its capacity to effectively handle growing passenger traffic.Three conveyor belts, two X-ray machines for checked baggage, two X-ray machines for hand baggage, four security check lanes, fifteen check-in counters, and more are all part of the expanded airport. four boarding gates. Two and a half years after phase 1 was completed, the airport saw a four-fold increase in traffic from 2021 to 2023. Following Phase I, the airport’s passenger volume increased, prompting the Phase II Arrival Area project and the airport’s expansion. After they had essentially finished building Phase-I, EPACK Prefab regained the right to bid on the airport extension project.
The airport established under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (UDAN) initiative of the central government quickly rose to the top of the program’s performance rankings due to its ability to efficiently match supply and demand in the area while addressing people’s requirements for air travel.
