Officials said the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) started road repairs in Sectors 4 and 10 on Friday before the November 15 deadline set by the municipal commissioner. “According to the instructions of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Commission, the relevant departments have begun to repair roads, clear and transport garbage and construction demolition waste throughout the city. On Tuesday, the municipal commissioner assigned the responsibility for these tasks to various officials and directed them to be completed by November 15. These jobs,” said MCG Public Relations Officer (PRO) SS Rohilla.
Officials said the municipal commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja issued instructions at a meeting on beautifying the city. Last month, the Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, issued a similar directive to relevant agencies in Gurugram, requiring all roads damaged by rain to be repaired by November 30. According to city officials, on Friday, MCG’s engineering department carried out road repairs to the internal roads in District 4 of Municipal Ward No. 15 and District 10 of Municipal Ward No. 23. They said that different departments have been involved in this work.
MCG’s engineering department also repaired footpaths, medians, pavement tracks, and tiles in the park belonging to municipal wards 15 and 23. Officials stated that the area belonging to Ward 14 will be covered next. In addition to MCG, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority set a deadline of November 15 for its workers to repair all roads within its jurisdiction.
