3,397 crore approved by MoRTH for road development in J&K

For the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Transport Ministry has approved two road projects and earmarked $3,397 crore for their completion. According to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, the project entails building a 4/6-Lane Access Control Expressway along NH-44 from Domel to Katra Section district and Kunjwani to Sidhra Section. In addition, the project work includes building Katara (Phase II-Package XVII), for which funding under the Bharatmala Pariyojana have also been approved for the Union Territory with a financial investment of 2574.47 crore. Project Beacon, BRO has also been approved for the construction of a 4-lane, paved shoulder portion of NH-01 along the Srinagar-Baramula-URI route.
