WoC India 2022 to be held from 13th to 15th Oct 2022

At a press conference with the theme “Connecting India by Concrete: A Journey towards Net Zero,” Informa Markets, India’s top B2B exhibitions organiser, announced the return of World of Concrete (WOC) India, the premier show in the concrete, construction, and infrastructure domain, as well as its new offerings for the industry. The 8th iteration of the expo will take place in the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Goregaon East, Mumbai, from October 13–15, 2022.

The largest and most established concrete event in the world devoted to the construction and infrastructure sector, World of Concrete Las Vegas, serves as the inspiration for the World of Concrete India expo and conference. The expo will include a thorough marketplace of materials, equipment, technologies, newest products, and tools for the commercial construction, concrete, and masonry industries in a joint effort with the Builders Association of India, Water Proofing Association of India, and Gujarat Contractors Association. Over the course of three days, it is anticipated that the event will draw more than 150+ exhibitors and 7,000+ trade visitors.

The Department of Roads’ Executive Engineer, Dr. Vishal Thombare, stated, “We have a 5-year Master plan that will be implemented in phases. Mumbai must go through a significant construction boom every few decades due to its coastline location. We’re building a cutting-edge underwater tunnel in South Mumbai (from Marine Drive to the Worli end of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link). To address monsoon issues, we are building RCC utility conduit on every road, soak pits, and holding tanks. Pavements’ lifespan will be extended by these advancements.

In addition to these, we have implemented numerous other measures to guarantee efficiency, including barcodes on barricades, cameras to monitor live work broadcasts, GIS for payment processing, and a road closure map to receive alerts about closures. The energy source for cameras’ operation will be solar electricity. A tunnel with a diameter of 12.19 metres will be built in India using the Saccardo technique, which will be a first for the nation. Expos like World of Concrete India will raise stakeholders’ awareness of new innovations in this field and help them stay current.

According to Amit Bansal, Partner, Financial Advisory and Sector Leader for Infrastructure at Deloitte India, the construction industry is changing and requires both a competent labour force and technological advancements. To meet the rapidly increasing demand for construction services, the sector must make investments in automation, new construction technologies, and digitization. Quick resolution of construction disputes is the key to a healthy construction sector. “World of Concrete India Expo 2022 is a venue where the stakeholders and government representatives may explore solutions to expedite the resolution of construction disputes and encourage investments in the construction sector.”

According to Yogesh Mudras, MD of Informa Markets in India, “The epidemic has drawn attention to infrastructure all across the world. We are pleased to see important government initiatives like the Gati Shakti Mission, the National Infrastructure Pipeline, the National Monetization Plan, and the Bharat Mala Project, which will elevate our nation to one of the top three contributors globally and catapult the economy to a global level and are acknowledged as major drivers of India’s economic growth and employment. We are pleased to announce that World of Concrete India 2022 will be instrumental in bringing the infrastructure and construction sectors together and fostering the expansion of the latter, which is anticipated to reach US$1.4 trillion by 2025.

The adoption of cutting-edge technology and materials would be crucial given the significant investments that the Central and various State Governments plan to make in housing and infrastructure development, according to Harshad Shah, Chairman of the Builders Association of India. We encourage our members to go to exhibitions like “World of Concrete India” in order to source our machinery and materials rather than travelling to foreign nations or different Indian manufacturers. Exhibitions like these bring the technology and resources right to our doorstep.
