Walplast expands capacities and shows strong YoY growth in HomeSure portfolio

Leading producer of building materials and India’s third-largest Wall Putty manufacturer, Walplast Products Pvt. Ltd., has strengthened its production capacity in the South by launching two new plants in Chennai and Perundurai, Tamil Nadu. These plants are dedicated to White Products and have annual capacities of 150,000 and 180,000 metric tonnes.

In June 2024, Walplast announced an investment of ₹300 crore to enhance its production capabilities. This investment facilitated the establishment of new plants in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh, collectively increasing the company’s annual production capacity by 800,000 metric tons for white, grey, and gypsum products.

Further bolstering its manufacturing footprint, Walplast inaugurated two plants in Tamil Nadu in April 2024. The Chennai facility specializes in white products with an annual capacity of 150,000 metric tons, while the Perundurai plant adds 180,000 metric tons per annum.

Impressive Growth in HomeSure Portfolio

Walplast’s consumer-facing brand, HomeSure, has demonstrated remarkable year-on-year growth across various product categories:

  • Tile Adhesives: The HomeSure TileEx brand experienced a 51% volume increase, with significant growth in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Punjab, and Tamil Nadu.
  • Gypsum Products: The HomeSure GypEx Gypsum Plaster range saw an 89% surge, particularly in Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. Additionally, the Gypsum Board segment grew by 62%, expanding its market presence in Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.
  • AAC Blocks: The HomeSure WallEx AAC Blocks reported a 151% increase in Tamil Nadu, indicating strong regional demand.
  • Textures and Paints: The HomeSure ScratchEx Textures achieved a 35% volume growth in Jharkhand, while the newly introduced HomeSure Master Touch Paints, encompassing emulsions, primers, and distempers, have been well-received in the market.

These strategic expansions and the robust performance of the HomeSure portfolio underscore Walplast’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the construction industry and its dedication to delivering quality building materials across India.
