Va Tech Wabag Secures ₹700 Cr Wastewater Treatment Project in Zambia

The Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company (LWSC) has awarded a ₹700 crore deal to the multinational Indian water technology company Va Tech Wabag. The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) in Germany are providing funding for the project.

Wabag will manage the engineering, acquisition, and construction of two cutting-edge wastewater treatment facilities in Zambia as part of the Design-Build-Operate (DBO) contract. These consist of a 19 MLD facility in Chunga and a 54 MLD plant in Ngwerere.
