UP govt unveils TOD along mass transit hubs in Ghaziabad

The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has been asked to create plans for Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) zones alongside many mass transit lines, including as the Regional Rapid Transit System, as part of the UP government’s recently announced TOD strategy (RRTS). The region will be developed as TOD zones within a 1.5 km radius of the stations and a 500 m radius of the mass transit line.

In Ghaziabad, these zones include alignments along the Metro and the RRTS in addition to motorways and expressways. TOD policy seeks to encourage planned development next to high-speed mass transit lines.

The rapidly expanding TOD concept aspires to build thriving, sustainable, and livable communities that are typically centred close to excellent train networks.
