The RLDA is seeking offers for a 50,010m2 plot of land in Tiruvottiyur, Chennai, to be used as a warehouse

India’s Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) has invited bids for commercial development of a railway plot for warehouse use at Tiruvottiyur in North Chennai. The proposed plot for development covers an area of 50,010 sqm and is being earmarked for industrial and commercial use.

The railway plot in Tiruvottiyur is well connected to various parts of the city. Located 400 m from Manali Road, the proposed site is adjacent to Ennore High Road. A flyover is under construction along Buckingham Canal Road on the northern edge of the plot.

The proposed site will be an ideal location for big e-commerce companies to set up warehouses, according to the RLDA. Vice-chairman of RLDA Ved Parkash Dudeja said, “Demand for warehousing space is at an all-time high”.

The site is a vacant piece of land situated in the middle of industrial area. It is at distance of 1.1km from Tiruvottiyur railway station. There is a thin ribbon/ strip development of residences & shops along Ennore high road, catering to IOCL Workers.

An online pre-bid meeting was held on April 7 where various logistics firms showed interest for this land parcel. The reserve price for the site is Rs 25.3 crores. Last date of e-bid submission is May 17, 2022 to submit an e-view of the parcel.
