The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has asked Indian startups to make torrefied biomass pellets

The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has invited Indian startups to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the production of torrefied biomass pellets.

NTPC intends to provide a platform for Indian startups to develop advanced technology for producing torrefied biomass pellets for decentralised small-scale users through its research and development (R&D) wing, the network for space object tracking and analysis (NETRA). The submission deadline is May 19, 2022.
Every year, India produces approximately 230 million metric tonnes of biomass, which is either wasted or burned. Biomass in power plants can help the environment by lowering carbon emissions.
