Tata Power Solar bags 300MW project worth Rs 1,731 crore from NHPC

NHPC has awarded Tata Power Solar, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power, a 300MW solar project worth Rs 1,731 crore, inclusive of tax.

The project site in Rajasthan will be developed under the IREDA’s CPSU scheme. The project is expected to be completed in 18 months and will reduce approximately 6, 36,960 carbon emissions while also producing approximately 750 million units annually. The project will be installed with Indian-made cells and modules.

“It underlines the industry’s confidence in our ability to develop and deliver world-class solar projects on time using state-of-the-art Indian technology,” said Dr Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD of Tata Power.

Tata Power Solar has always been a leader in the development and implementation of large-scale solar and renewable energy projects. The company’s pending order book now stands at Rs 13,500 crore, and its utility-scale solar project portfolio has grown to 9.7GWp.
