Oyster Green Hybrid One has granted Suzlon Group a wind energy project with a capacity of 82 MW. At Oyster Green’s location in Agar, Madhya Pradesh, 26 wind turbine generators (WTGs), each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW, will be installed as part of the project. Suzlon will oversee the entire project’s execution, including its erection.
Commissioning, and it will also offer thorough operations and maintenance (O&M) services after it has been put into service. The project’s electricity would be directed towards the commercial and industrial (C&I) customer segment, with the aim of advancing the adoption of renewable energy in India.
Renewable energy giant Suzlon Group has secured a 82 MW wind energy project from Oyster Green, marking another milestone in India’s transition towards sustainable energy solutions. The project, which will be developed in phases, reinforces Suzlon’s leadership in the wind energy sector and its commitment to supporting India’s clean energy goals.
Project Details and Scope
The 82 MW wind energy project will feature state-of-the-art wind turbine generators (WTGs) designed and manufactured by Suzlon. These turbines will be deployed across strategic locations identified for their high wind potential, ensuring optimal power generation.
Suzlon will be responsible for the supply, installation, and commissioning of the wind turbines, along with providing comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M) services to ensure long-term performance and efficiency.
Significance of the Project
This project is expected to generate a significant amount of renewable electricity, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and lowering carbon emissions. Once operational, the 82 MW capacity is estimated to power thousands of households, contributing to India’s renewable energy targets.
Speaking on the development, a Suzlon spokesperson stated, “We are delighted to partner with Oyster Green for this important wind energy project. Our advanced turbine technology and engineering expertise will help maximize efficiency and sustainability in clean energy generation.”
Boost to India’s Renewable Energy Goals
India has set an ambitious target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030, with wind energy playing a crucial role in meeting this objective. Suzlon, as one of the leading wind energy companies in India, continues to expand its portfolio by partnering with key players like Oyster Green to accelerate the adoption of wind power.
This project also aligns with the government’s “Make in India” initiative, as Suzlon’s turbines are manufactured domestically, supporting local employment and strengthening the renewable energy supply chain.
Future Prospects and Sustainability Impact
With a growing focus on clean energy and decarbonization, projects like these are crucial in reducing India’s carbon footprint. The collaboration between Suzlon and Oyster Green is expected to set a benchmark for future wind energy projects in the country.
As Suzlon continues to expand its wind energy footprint, the successful execution of this project will further solidify its position as a key enabler of India’s green energy transition.
