Five projects totaling 85.23 crore are being carried out as part of Shimla’s Smart City initiative, including the building of four flyovers and one tunnel. This effort intends to reduce traffic congestion at busy intersections like Dhalli, Chakkar Bypass, Vidhan Sabha, MLA Crossing, and Khalini.
22 projects totaling 122.30 crore are being carried out by Shimla Smart City Limited and involve building parking lots to relieve traffic congestion and guarantee smooth vehicle circulation. The project involved the construction of three sizable parking lots close to the IGMC and Hospital.
Additionally, 33 crore has been set aside for Ridge stabilisation. There will be two phases to the work. Phase I will cover the area between the Gaiety Theater and the Padam Dev Complex, and phase II will cover the area between the Padam Dev Complex and the DAV School.
