A fresh order for the development of a 180.6 MW wind power project for Sembcorp’s renewables subsidiary Green Infra Wind Energy Limited has been awarded to Suzlon Group, India’s top provider of renewable energy solutions. 86 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) towers with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW will be installed by Suzlon. The project will be finished in 2024 and is located in Kanakagiribad, Bagalkot, Karnataka.
Suzlon will carry out the project, including erection and commissioning, and provide the wind turbines (equipment supply). Additionally, Suzlon will offer complete post-commissioning operation and maintenance services.
“This is a third repeat purchase from Sembcorp,” said Ashwani Kumar, CEO of the Suzlon Group. There is a coordinated international drive to increase wind and solar installations because there is a consensus that renewable energy is the most practical weapon to tackle the “Climate Emergency.” All of our stakeholders and client sectors are becoming more interested in making investments in renewable energy, and we are seeing this momentum speed up in India as well. Customers can set up wind power projects easily and reliably across India thanks to Suzlon’s knowledge in the Indian wind energy market over the past 27 years and products that are best suited to India’s different wind regimes. This expertise is supported by our excellent service offerings.
