The state of Telangana in India is set to see a number of new road projects worth a total of ₹76,000 crore (US$11 billion). The projects include the construction of new highways, expressways, and bridges, as well as the upgrading of existing roads. They are expected to create a significant number of jobs, both during the construction phase and afterwards. The projects will also improve connectivity within the state and to neighbouring states, which will boost trade and economic activity.
The National Highways Authority of India intends to spend $76,000 crore to improve the state of Telangana’s road system. A total of 23 national highway projects totaling 1,517 km in length are being implemented in stages. The NHAI is now putting together DPR for ten separate projects totaling 818 km of length and 28,911 crore in projected cost.
A new road network covering a distance of 786 km would be available once several projects totalling $12,841 crore are finished.
