The contract to create the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Bangalore’s Metro Phase 3’s 37-km-long Metro line connecting Sarjapur and Hebbal via Agara, Koramanagala, and Dairy Circle has been given to Italian company RINA SpA’s Indian subsidiary, RINA Consulting. It will probably be ready in eight months. The stretch between Hebbal and Koramangala will be underground, but the rest will be elevated.
The DPR will include information on the project’s estimated cost as well as the project’s alignment, underground and elevated sections, number of stations and locations, depot, rolling stock requirements, projected ridership, socio-environmental impact, and number of stations and locations. It is anticipated that the route, which passes through the centre of the city, will be finished by 2027 or 2028.
