The 8.10 km flyover in Sambalpur has been sanctioned for construction with funding of ₹288.61 crore by the Ministry of Railways. By bridging Sambalpur Station with Sambalpur City Station, this flyover would reduce train traffic and boost operational effectiveness. It is intended to improve train movements in the direction of Titilagarh, Angul, and Jharsuguda, lessen traffic, and increase speeds.
