The 63.5-km new rail line will be built, and the Union Railway Minister has directed that a survey be done as soon as possible from Meerut to Bijnor via Hastinapur. Buses take longer than two hours to travel the 80 km between the two cities because there is now no railway route between them.
Officials will gather information, create a map of the track, and then present the survey report and map to the railway board for future action. A project for the modernization of Bijnor Railway Station is to be prepared by the railway department. Locals have also called for a train to Mumbai to pass via Bijnor.
