The construction of the first phase of Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority’s (PMRDA) Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar Metro Line 3 in Hinjewadi has given the project momentum. Between proposed stations 01 and 02 on the 23-km elevated Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar metro section, the segment, weighing 46 tonnes, was lifted and constructed at a height of 11 metres. Suhas Diwase, commissioner of PMRDA, stated that the stretch is essential to the Metro rail since it serves as the foundation for train track. Each segment is cast alongside the one before it in a unique customizable casting machine, ensuring that the interface between the two segments will match perfectly when the structure is assembled. The authority feels confident following the achievement of a significant milestone in the first segment’s launch.
