PMC demolish illegal construction at Kharadi

In an effort to stop unauthorised building in Kharadi, PMC demolished a multistory structure.

On Monday, the Building Permission Department of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) carried out an operation to prevent unauthorised construction activities in Kharadi and demolished a three-story building at survey number 3.

According to Building Permission Department executive engineer Shridhar Yeolekar, “The PMC conducted a drive against illegal construction at Kharadi and vacated a 15,000 square foot area.” The PMC has been hindered in its efforts to stop illegal building because of election-related obligations, but the campaign will pick back up after June 4.

“All civic departments initiated drives in the city prompted by the Kalyaninagar car crash,” PMC authorities said in response to the development. After taking action against rooftop hotels last week, the PMC will now step up its campaign against unauthorised buildings.

Civic authorities cleared out other unauthorised hoardings from the Wakad area later in the day.
