In order to reduce traffic on Sinhagad Road, the PMC is building a flyover. Work on the Rajaram Bridge to Fun Time Multiplex flyover is nearly 70% complete. On the other hand, the Swargate to Khadakwasla extension (phase 2), which goes across Sinhagad Road, has been planned by Pune Metro. 39 of the 106 pillars that the Pune Metro has proposed for this extension would be constructed along the Rajaram Bridge to Fun Time Multiplex segment on Sinhagad Road.

The PMC project department’s executive engineer, Ajay Wayse, stated: “The Pune Metro has requested that the PMC construct 39 foundation piers.” We have begun work in accordance with the design after they turned over the piers’ drawing.
“The PMC is carrying out the work under the supervision of the Pune Metro,” stated Atul Gadgil, director of works for Pune Metro. The metro pillars’ layout and construction have our approval. When the actual metro work starts, it will make things easier and prevent complications for people. Later on, we will pay the PMC.
Permission for phase 2 of the Pune Metro was given by the PMC in July of last year. The projected project cost for the Hadapsar to Khadakwasla metro line is 8,565 crores, according to the detailed project report (DPR). This metro line will have 22 stops. Previously, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) and Maha-Metro were to manage this metro line jointly. Nonetheless, it was suggested at the Pune Unified Urban Transport Authority (PUMTA) meeting that the metro line be run independently, and Maha-Metro then prepared the DPR. From Khadakwasla to Sinhagad Road, Swargate, Shankar Sheth Road, Ram Manohar Lohia Udyan, Mundhwa Chowk and Kharadi is the route of this metro line. The path will be elevated the whole way.
In August, PMC will open the Vithalwadi flyover over the Rajaram Bridge.
In August, the PMC plans to open a portion of the Sinhagad Road flyover that runs from Rajaram Bridge to Vithalwadi. Due to the PMC building pillars for the Pune Metro extension from Swargate to Khadakwasla, as agreed upon between the local body and Pune Metro, the work has been delayed. The PMC has begun building 39 foundation piers, which has caused a delay in the flyover project.
