PM Modi to Inaugurate Key Infrastructure Projects in Haryana

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate two significant projects during his visit to Haryana. The first is the foundation stone laying of a new 800 MW unit at Deenbandhu Chaudhary Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant in Yamunanagar, which is expected to be completed in 52 months.

The second project is the launch of air services from Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar, which will be a crucial step in developing the region as an integrated aviation hub. The airport will cover 4,200 acres for the airport and 3,000 acres for an integrated manufacturing cluster, positioning Hisar as a key player in India’s aviation and industrial growth.

The Namami Gange Programme (NGP) offers a ₹100 billion opportunity for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) players, according to an ICRA report. The project presents an estimated pending outlay of ₹150 billion.

In other news, RITES has emerged as the sole bidder for Kochi Metro’s proposed Phase-III airport line, and J Kumar Infraprojects has secured a ₹1,020.70 Cr CIDCO Coastal Road Project. The New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) has invited bids for a MSW-to-Energy project in the Kakinada-Rajahmundry region.

​Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Haryana to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several pivotal infrastructure projects, underscoring the government’s commitment to the state’s socio-economic development. This visit aligns with the celebration of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, reflecting a dedication to inclusive growth and empowerment.

Hisar Airport Inauguration

A significant highlight of the Prime Minister’s visit is the inauguration of the newly developed Hisar Airport. This project aims to bolster regional connectivity, facilitating economic growth and providing impetus to local industries by improving access to national and international markets.

In a move to enhance the state’s energy infrastructure, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate an 800-MW thermal power plant in Yamunanagar. This facility is expected to augment Haryana’s power supply, supporting both residential and industrial energy demands, thereby contributing to the state’s economic stability and growth.

AIIMS Rewari

Demonstrating a commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rewari. To be built at a cost of about Rs 1,650 crore, AIIMS Rewari will feature a hospital complex with 720 beds TO 100 seats, a nursing college with 60 seats, institution is healthcare accessibility and quality in the region.

Anubhav Kendra at Jyotisar, Kurukshetra

In Kurukshetra, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the ‘Anubhav Kendra,’ an experiential museum at Jyotisar. This center is designed to introduce visitors to the teachings of Lord Krishna as elucidated in the Bhagavad Gita, promoting cultural tourism and educational engagement.

Railway Projects and Rohtak-Meham-Hansi Train Service

The visit also includes the inauguration and foundation laying of multiple railway projects aimed at enhancing connectivity within the state. Notably, a new train service in the Rohtak-Meham-Hansi section will be flagged off, improving regional transportation and benefiting daily commuters and local businesses.

Previous Infrastructure Initiatives

This visit follows earlier efforts to boost Haryana’s infrastructure. In March 2024, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 112 National Highway projects worth about Rs 1 lakh crore in, significantly enhancing the state’s road network.
