Patna Metro starts work on underground stretch in Bihar

The subterranean portion of the Patna Metro Rail Project, with an investment of $19,500 crore, is now being built by the Patna Metro’s contractor in Bihar. On February 17, 2019, the Prime Minister laid the cornerstone for the 31 kilometre long project with 26 metro stations. The metro rail’s first line will link Danapur to Mithapur-KhemniChak, and its second line will run between Patna Railway Station and the Pataliputra Bus Terminal. Over a million people travelling to different locations in the state capital would benefit from it once it is operational, according to an official spokesperson, in addition to reducing traffic congestion.
