PATEL’s ROAD SHIELD PRIVATE LIMITED set a world record by laying bituminous concrete on 34.24 kilometers in 24 hours, covering 171,210 square meters, and installing a metal beam crash barrier, officially recognized by three major record authorities.

On May 18, 2025, in the Hardon–Unnao section of the Ganga Expressway, Patel Infrastructure accomplished the following feats.
- Bituminous Concrete Laying: Laid 34.24 lane kilometers of bituminous concrete within 24 hours, utilizing 20,105 metric tones of material and covering area of 171,210 square meters
- Crash Barrier Installation: Installed 10 kilometers of Three beam metal crash barriers in the same 24-hour timeframe These achievements have been officially recognized by the Golden Book of World Records, Asia Book of Records, and India Book of Records.
Collaborative Effort
The project was executed in partnership with Adani Road and Transport Limited (ARTL), under the oversight of the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). Advanced technologies, including AI systems developed by ETH Zurich, were employed to ensure international standards in road quality and user comfort.
Significance of the Ganga Expressway
The Ganga Expressway’s a 594-kilometer greenfield expressway designed to connect Meerut to Prayagraj, traversing 12 districts in Uttar Pradesh. Upon completion, it’s poised to become India’s longest expressway, significantly enhancing regional connectivity and economic development.
