The first phase will involve the development of 18.43 MMTPA of the anticipated 45.88 MMTPA cargo handling capacity. The Paradip Port Authority has received preliminary clearance from the government (PPA). The first phase’s overall cost is anticipated to be over 2,085 crore. The PPA will develop supporting infrastructures.

like rail and road connectivity and dredging requirements for the port, which will be connected to National Highway-53 and the Haridaspur-Paradip railway line for cargo transportation, while the state government will provide land and other facilities for the project. The port will give the residents several direct and indirect job-generation opportunities once it is operational. The port project aims to meet the transportation needs of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha.
