In Pune, the foundations for two major National Highway projects were laid by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Minister Murlidhar Mohol together. These include building significant bridges across the Mula-Mutha River with service roads on the Pune-Satara part of NH-48, and four-laning the 13 km Dive Ghat to Hadapsar stretch on NH-965 (Palkhi Marg Package VI).
Gadkari underlined how these initiatives will help pilgrims of the Palkhi Yatra travel more safely and with less traffic. He also revealed a number of planned projects, such as a ₹7,500 crore elevated corridor on the Nashik Phata-Khed portion of NH-60 and a ₹5,000 crore elevated corridor from Ravet to Narhe, which is scheduled to start construction in December 2024. Furthermore, elevated corridors will be constructed on the NH-548D Talegaon-Chakan-Shikrapur portion and the NH-753F Pune-Shirur stretch.
