Nitin Gadkari, the union transport minister, stated that NHAI has taken over the construction work of an elevated road project to be built at Jodhpur in Rajasthan. He added that before this, the state government had announced the preparation of its DPR in 2019–20 and the state Public Works Department had sent the proposals to NHAI.
In light of this, the government recently hired a project management consultant to create the DPR, following which the NHAI would immediately begin construction by releasing a call for bids. In this regard, the state chief minister met with the union transport minister, who immediately approved the project and gave NHAI the go-ahead to take it over and go to work as soon as possible.
