New construction work coming up at Imphal International Airport

Imphal International Airport in Manipur will begin building on a New Integrated Terminal Building (NITB) with a Technical Block cum Air Traffic Control tower, Apron Linked Taxiway, and Associated City Side Works.

According to Sanmukh Jugani, Regional Executive Director, Airports Authority of India, a brand-new terminal building would be built at Imphal International Airport with all contemporary amenities. The project has already been awarded, and it will likely be finished in 24 months.

During peak hours, the Imphal Airport’s current terminal building can accommodate about 250 arrivals and 250 departures. A handling capacity of 0.6 million passengers per year is envisaged.
