The programme, which was introduced earlier this year, is to teach 15,000 women how to use drones for agricultural tasks including seeding, fertilising, and crop growth monitoring. By enhancing their abilities in cutting-edge technology, women will be able to pursue new career prospects.

Shri Tiwari emphasised how this partnership will make use of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s agricultural knowledge through extensive training. Two NSTI centres, one in Noida and the other in Hyderabad, have been chosen to participate in pilot projects aimed at empowering rural women in agriculture. Shri Tiwari stressed that this collaboration is in line with the goal of empowering women to upskill for the purpose of nation-building, especially through the Drone Didi programme that gives them access to burgeoning trades.

In addition, Shri Tiwari mentioned that by extending on earlier fruitful partnerships with top technology sector partners, this collaboration marks the start of numerous joint ventures with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Students will get rigorous instruction and practical experience in order to provide them with the skills and competencies needed to succeed in their chosen fields and make a significant contribution to the socioeconomic development of the country.

In keeping with the company’s Rise concept, Dr. Anish Shah affirmed Mahindra & Mahindra’s dedication to providing women with the skills they need to enter the workforce and become financially independent. He stressed that women, farming, and technology are coming together in a groundbreaking way through the Drone Didi Yojana Pilot Projects.

In order to skill 500 women in small batches, MSDE and M&M will carry out two pilot projects at the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) in Hyderabad and Noida. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has authorised a 15-day programme, which will be taught at these centres by instructors from the Remote Pilot Training Organisation (RPTO).

While Mahindra Group will provide initial set-up support and cover operating costs for the duration of the Pilot Projects, including the cost of DGCA Licence Holder Instructors at the centres, NSTIs will provide infrastructure and hostel facilities for participants and mobilise participation through local Women Self Help Groups and NGOs.
