MoRTH suggests skybus and trolley bus services in Bengaluru

Since it is difficult to widen the current highways, Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has planned to conduct a thorough research to deploy skybuses in Bengaluru. A skybus is like Metro but goes above roadways. It can carry 200 passengers and go above and through the air.

Trolley buses, which get their power from overhead lines, were another notion put out by Gadkari. Trolley vehicles cost just 50 to 60 lakh rupees (per bus) and have a seating capacity of 88 persons, unlike battery-powered e-buses. It’s an economical choice. The IT crowd or those who commute by automobile can choose this alternative.
