Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari is all set to launch major road infrastructure projects – a 1.2km overpass at IMT Manesar, an 800m overpass at Bilaspur Chowk, and another 900m overpass at Bawal Chowk on the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway involving joint Invest 11 billion rupees. Union Minister and Gurgaon MP Rao Inderjit Singh said these were long pending projects that were originally planned to shorten the commute time between Delhi and Jaipur and were approved in 2015 but were delayed for various reasons. The cost of the IMT Manesar Chowk flyover has been fixed at Rs 90 crore, while the construction cost of the Bilaspur Chowk and Bawal Chowk flyovers will be Rs 230 crore each. Once these projects are completed, the traffic load on these sections will be greatly reduced. In addition to this, an overpass is also planned at Kapriwas, Rewari. A detour at Dharuhera will also cost Rs 200 crore, while national roads and service roads will be re-carpeted at a cost of Rs 459 crore.
