MoRTH plans three-deck highway in Pune

The Union Transport Ministry has suggested a 30-km long elevated, six-lane, three-deck expressway from Nashik Phata to Khed in the Pune metropolitan area to address the deteriorating traffic situation at the Chakan car cluster. For the project, NHAI will create a comprehensive project report (DPR).

The top automakers in the world have facilities in Chakan MIDC, and numerous businessmen and foreign delegates have previously mentioned traffic problems there. In order to make room for the proposed three-deck highway, the previous tendering procedure was abandoned. The third level of the proposed highway would include a Metro station, and after the DPR is complete, NHAI will flog proposals to award the project.
