The access-controlled Aurangabad-Pune expressway would cost 10,000 crore, and the Dhule-Nandurbar NH project in the Jalgaon district will cost 2,460 crore. The Union Transport Ministry has announced the commencement of 12,460 crore road projects in Maharashtra. With a speed of 140 kmph, the Aurangabad-Pune expressway will cut the 225 km journey’s travel time from five hours to only 1.15 minutes.

The highway improvements are intended to spur economic growth in these locations, which will enhance the socioeconomic circumstances of the local populace. The Union Transport Minister intends to further promote the Buldana pattern he started in 2016–17, which has increased water accessibility in underdeveloped parts of Solapur and Marathwada districts through better road infrastructure.

In this project, NHAI contractors are authorised to dig deeper lakes and other bodies of water in order to extract soil and stones without having to pay any royalties. As of right now, 73 villages in the Solapur district that were experiencing water scarcity are now water surplus areas, changing the lives of many people.
