Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde inaugurated Metro Line 12, connecting Kalyan to Taloja in Navi Mumbai, marking a significant development surge in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, enhancing connectivity and expanding the metro network.
Metro Line 12, spanning 22.173 km with 19 elevated stations, is set to be completed by end-2027, costing around ₹5,865 crore. The project aims to improve connectivity between Kalyan and Taloja, shorten travel times to south Mumbai, Thane, Mira-Bhayender, and Virar.
He emphasized that the travel time between Kalyan and Taloja will be reduced by 45 minutes post the completion of Metro Line 12. “Integration with Navi Mumbai will amplify connectivity, fostering development in the Kalyan-Dombivli region and spurring business growth,” he added.
