Maharashtra Approves ₹36,964 Cr for Cement Concrete Roads Construction

The project, which will be implemented in phases, focuses on replacing conventional asphalt roads with cement concrete, known for its higher strength, longevity, and resistance to weather-related damage. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde emphasized the importance of this investment, stating, “Cement concrete roads offer a permanent solution to Maharashtra’s road infrastructure challenges. A significant portion of the funds will be allocated to improving roads in key metropolitan regions, including Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur, where traffic congestion and road deterioration have been persistent concerns.
