L&T wins multiple minerals & metals contracts

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced that it has won multiple contracts in the minerals and metals sector in India. The contracts are worth a total of Rs 4,500 crore and are for the development of a greenfield aluminum smelter, a greenfield captive power plant, and a brownfield expansion of an existing steel plant.

L&T is one of the largest engineering and construction firms in India, and these latest wins are a testament to its expertise in the minerals and metals sector. The company has extensive experience in all aspects of project development, from feasibility studies to project execution.

The aluminum smelter project is being developed by Vedanta Limited, one of the largest diversified natural resources companies in the world. The smelter will have a capacity of 1.2 million tonnes per annum and will be located in the state of Odisha.

The captive power plant will have a capacity of 250 MW and will be located in the state of Jharkhand. It will be used to power the steel plant of Jindal Steel & Power Limited, one of the largest steel producers in India.

The brownfield expansion of the existing steel plant is being developed by Steel Authority of India.
