Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRCL) has announced that Larsen & Toubro (L&T) was the lowest bidder for the civil construction of Package AGCC-07, the Agra Metro Line-2. A 14.2-station elevated viaduct, a 530-meter bridge to Kalindi.
Vihar Depot, and a 2.61-kilometer viaduct extension from Sadar Bazar Metro station to Line-1’s PAC Depot are all part of the ₹1,466.49 crore contract. Additionally, this contract includes work from the AGCC-06 package that was discarded. Larsen & Toubro.
(L&T) has been awarded a significant contract valued at ₹1,466.49 crore by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) for the construction of Agra Metro’s Line-2, under Package AGCC-07. Scope of the Project
The contract encompasses the design and construction of a 15.09 km elevated viaduct stretching from Agra Cantt. Metro Station to Kalindi Vihar Metro Station. This includes the development of 14 elevated stations at key locations:

Additionally, the project includes a 530-meter viaduct leading to the Kalindi Vihar Depot and a 2.61 km viaduct extension from the north of Sadar Bazar Metro Station to Line-1’s PAC Depot. This extension was previously part of the AGCC-06 package, which was canceled and subsequently integrated into the current contract.
Bidding Process and Financials
The tender for Package AGCC-07 was floated by UPMRC in December 2023, with an estimated cost of ₹1,529.29 crore and a completion timeline of 24 months. The bidding process saw participation from six firms, with L&T emerging as the lowest bidder at ₹1,466.49 crore, which is ₹62.79 crore (4.11%) below UPMRC’s estimate.

This contract signifies L&T’s re-engagement in elevated metro projects in northern India, as their recent projects have predominantly focused on underground tunneling works in cities like Delhi and Patna.
