The Department of Water Resources, Jharkhand, has awarded L&T Construction’s Water & Effluent Treatment Business a repeat EPC order to complete the Masalia Ranishwar Megalift irrigation scheme on a turnkey basis.
The project involves pumping water from the Sidheshwari River to irrigate 22,283 hectares of Culturable Command Area (CCA) in the Dumka district of the state. The project includes surveying, designing, and building a 158-meter-long barrage across the river.
Survey, design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of intake and intermediate pump houses, delivery chambers, MS, Dl, and HDPE pipeline of various diameters, and pipeline distribution networks with allied works are also included in the scope of work.
In Jharkhand’s Garhwa district, the company is already working on a similar lift irrigation project. With this order from the irrigation sector, the company has demonstrated that it has the technical and execution capability to meet the basic need for water among farmers and drive agricultural growth across the state.
